Why We Do What We Do at IN Chiropractic & Wellness

Research continues to show what experienced clinicians have known for years:
low back pain is often linked to how the spine and pelvis are positioned — not just symptoms alone.

Recent published research demonstrates that people with acute low back pain commonly have:

  • Excessive lower-back curvature (hyperlordosis)

  • Increased forward tilt of the pelvis

  • Normal pelvic structure, meaning the issue is functional, not something they were “born with”

These findings matter — because alignment problems cannot be accurately assessed without imaging.

Experience Matters — But So Does Doing It Right

At IN Chiropractic & Wellness, we bring decades of real-world clinical and sports experience to every patient case.
But experience alone is not enough.

That’s why we still follow the PCCRP radiographic guidelines of the International Chiropractors Association (ICA).

We do not X-ray everyone - There ARE exceptions
We do not guess - precise reasoning is based upon data
We do not skip necessary imaging when clinical findings indicate it - 27 Markers via PCCRP Guidelines

Instead, we use imaging when it is appropriate, justified, and clinically necessary — exactly as the guidelines require.

That’s how professionals practice.

Why PCCRP Guidelines Matter

The PCCRP guidelines exist to ensure that:

  • Imaging is used responsibly

  • Patients are protected

  • Care is based on evidence, not fear or outdated myths

When X-rays are indicated, they allow us to:

  • Identify abnormal spinal mechanics

  • Understand how the spine and pelvis are working together

  • Create precise, patient-specific care plans

  • Avoid trial-and-error treatment

This aligns directly with current research showing that biomechanical differences are present even in first-time low back pain cases.

Precision Over Guesswork

Pain alone doesn’t tell the full story.

Two people can have the same symptoms but very different spinal mechanics.
Without imaging — you’re guessing.

With appropriate imaging:

  • We know what curve is present

  • We know how the pelvis is positioned

  • We know what needs to change — and what does not

That’s how outcomes improve.

This Is What “Doing the Job” Looks Like

At IN Chiropractic & Wellness:

  • We combine experience + evidence

  • We respect guidelines

  • We use imaging when indicated

  • We build care around objective findings

That’s not aggressive care.
That’s responsible, professional, patient-centered chiropractic.
