PREFACE BY DR. DAVID M. DURKIN

"see his technique expand from conception to reality..."

In every profession there are visionaries that take it upon themselves to expand the reach of their chosen profession. Dr. McDougle is such a person.  Dr. McDougle and I were in chiropractic school together in the later 1990’s. Dr. McDougle’s infectious laugh and love of people set him apart from my other classmates.  Even then, he was on a mission to travel to the depths of chiropractic and uncover the truths of the “Vitalistic” and “Mechanical” models that Dr. B.J. Palmer spoke of so many years ago. His journey has continued and his life has been dedicated one-hundred percent to the profession we love. CHIROPRACTIC!
Dr. McDougle is not only one of my most respected colleagues, but a true friend that has shown myself and my family courtesies and love that many family members fail to show one another. However, I am not alone. As I have been introduced to a host of Dr. McDougle’s friends that have shared the same type of stories and endorsements with me over the years. I have spent days at a time in his office listening and learning, not only from Dr. McDougle, but from his patient’s.  Stories of healing and restoration of health were consistently present. Many chiropractors experience such events throughout their careers; however, in Dr. McDougle’s case, it is common place and expected!
Dr. McDougle has worked with and served all categories of patients during his career. These include adults, children and geriatrics. However, as an athlete, Dr. McDougle has spent an enormous amount of his spare time traveling and treating the “Strong Men of America.”  The feeling of pride when one of his athletes returns to competition and accomplishes a personal or national record is something that fuels Dr. McDougle’s fire.  He receives this same feeling when he returns an injured patient to work, allowing him to feed his family. He serves all his patients, not for personal gain but as a mission of service.  Something that is contagious when around Dr. McDougle.  In fact, when Dr. McDougle comes to visit my community, he never leaves without referring four or five patients to my office! He just cannot help serving in any capacity available to him and he knows the power of a chiropractic referral.
Having Dr. McDougle as a friend has allowed me to see his technique expand from conception to reality. Doc, as he is commonly referred to by his patient’s and friends, has worked tirelessly in an effort to produce a product to help chiropractors produce outstanding and consistent results from their care.  I have seen him grow as a doctor and as a person through this process. I have seen him deal with pressures, hardships and failures. In every case, the way Dr. Todd McDougle has handled himself has been an inspiration to me and my family.  He has an ability to inspire, teach and learn in every situation. He embraces change and growth. As a result, he is one of the most outstanding people and physicians I have ever had the pleasure to know.
Having the opportunity to be trained in a technique, seemingly without limits, and being inspired and taught by a visionary is something today’s chiropractors have not had the opportunity to have as often as in our professions past. You, as a reader, have the opportunity to partake in such an opportunity.  Keep your eyes open, learn, challenge yourself and travel through this learning experience being offered here for you.  I promise, you will emerge through to the other side of this learning experience as a better doctor of chiropractic.
Thank you, Doc! For sharing your knowledge, successes and how to handle challenges with class.  I am a better chiropractor as a result of knowing and learning from you!

I love you my friend,

David M. Durkin, D.C.

A Note from Dr. Eric Blum

"The technique is unique and scientifically thought out"

It was 2008 when I received a call from my friend Dr. Brian Campbell who is the treating Chiropractor at UCLA. At the time, there was a gymnast at the college with severe low back pain who wasn’t getting results with the care from the training staff. Valerie Kondos-Fields, UCLA’s Gymnastic Coach, wanted to fly Dr. Todd McDougle to Westwood so that he could teach Dr. Campbell a Chiropractic technique that was found to be successful in treating this particular gymnast. Dr. Campbell was very skeptical and asked if I would join him in this meeting so that we could see what this technique was all about.

That meeting was the turning point for my practice. I had never seen adjustments the way that Dr. McDougle was doing them. It was a quick procedure, yet was so detailed and specific that I wanted to learn more. I’m all about having plenty of tools in my pocket. The more tools that I have, the better I can serve my patients. Dr. McDougle was able to meet with me several times during other trips to Los Angeles in order to teach me his McDougle Chiropractic Methods.

WOW!!! That was the best thing I’ve ever learned. I was able to implement the technique into my practice, and have been successful with it for the last 6 years. As you know, everyone responds differently to various treatments. If you only treat with one style and patients don’t like it or respond to it then what happens? They go find someone else who may be able to help them. This technique has helped me attract and retain many new patients from all walks of life.

The technique is unique and scientifically thought out. A specific line analysis on x-rays helps you determine where and how to adjust. However, don’t worry if you don’t have x-rays because you can be just as effective without them once you learn his algorithm.

McDougle Chiropractic Methods utilizes the drop table developed by Chiropractic Pioneer, Dr. Clay Thompson which was entered into service at Palmer College of Chiropractic in the early 1960’s. Over time, I’ve found that there are many important advantages to using a drop table. If I have a patient with severe spasms or muscle tenderness, then a regular diversified adjustment may cause more discomfort. I don’t want to “muscle through” the adjustment. With the drop table I can get everything to go without “muscling” or causing pain. Another thing is that some people are afraid of the “pop,” “cracking,” or just your regular diversified adjustment maneuvers. What are you going to do for those patients? Well this is your answer. They will hear the table dropping but no “popping” or “cracking.” Another advantage is that using this technique has helped me maintain my physical ability to treat. I have colleagues who have been practicing for over 15 years and are beginning to have back and hip pain of their own due to their traditional treatment techniques taught in Chiropractic colleges. I am at 15 years and going strong.

I have many opportunities to work with professional athletes. I travel the World with Olympic swimmers, attend to Major League Baseball teams at their games, get called in for Rock and Country concerts to help the entertainers, and treat NFL and NBA players as well. This technique has made me unique as compared to other chiropractors. After I adjust one of these athletes, I always hear, “Wow, I have never been adjusted like that.” Because of this technique, I get called back again and again.

I owe so much to Dr. McDougle for the way he has helped advanced my career, and can’t say enough about how amazing this technique is. There’s a lot of information in this text. Stick with it and practice it routinely, and you won’t be disappointed. It’s exciting when you see how everything clicks into place. You are finally able to clear up that first rib or sacrum problem that previously kept coming back. This will make you look like the most amazing doctor! Enjoy the growth and personal satisfaction by incorporating McDougle Chiropractic Methods. Most of all, have fun!!!!!!

"If you are lucky enough to be within reach of this gifted man, I encourage you to use his services..."

I cannot explain the work this man did to my arm in 15 minutes on a rainy day in Belfast. Having being referred to several physios and doctors here in Ireland, I was given two choices of either surgery or regular cortisone injections to try prevent my arm from becoming more restricted...The day I received treatment from Dr. Todd, my right arm was 15 to 20 degrees short of straight when fully locked out. Upon inspection I was reassured by Dr. Todd straight away that he could help me with his treatment. When he was done he simply said “Right buddy, straighten your arm.” He will tell you himself the look of shock on my face when my arm straightened to within two or three degrees was priceless, and after one treatment in not ideal circumstances! If you are lucky enough to be within reach of this gifted man, I encourage you to use his services...I cannot recommend this man highly enough!

"I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible experience I had at the McDougle Chiropractic Method, live training series, held in conjunction with the recent Official Strongman games event. As an avid sports enthusiast, I found this training to be a truly transformative and eye-opening journey.

What truly stood out was the seamless integration of chiropractic principles with the demands of these incredible athletes. Dr. McDougle and his associates demonstrated incredible skills and showed me how a powerful chiropractic adjustment could not only alleviate pain but also optimize athletic performance. It was remarkable to witness firsthand how the chiropractic adjustments played a pivotal role in helping these phenomenal athletes. After each event many of them suffered body mechanical complications or got injured; through a series of targeted chiropractic adjustments, the athletes experienced a significant reduction in pain, noticeable improvement in mobility, and also made a triumphant return to competition.

The interactive nature of this training allowed me to engage directly with Dr. McDougle and his associates, which provided me with a tangible understanding of McDougle Chiropractic technique and methodology. Even though I am still  in the beginning stage of training and learning of Dr. McDougle's technique, immediately after I got back to work, I was able to apply many of the skills I learned at the event to my patients. The results were incredible and I got positive feedback from everyone I treated.

The knowledge gained, coupled with the hands-on skills acquired, has not only expanded my expertise but has also opened doors to new opportunities. It's reassuring to witness the tangible returns on this investment, both in terms of career advancement and personal growth. The decision to spend money on a quality educational class has not just been a transaction; it has been an investment in my future success and continual learning. I am aware that becoming an excellent chiropractor involves personal initiative; excellence is a continuous journey, and ongoing commitment to learning and improvement is a key to being an outstanding chiropractor.

Dr. McDougle thank you for inviting me to this master training experience. I hope I have other opportunities to further improve my skills in the McDougle Chiropractic Method.

May God’s peace, joy, and goodwill be with you and your loved ones!

Regards,Georgi
